Idiot-proof KNetworkManager.

Tue Jun 30, 2009 12:02 am
Network manager (at least, in 4.2) is very confusing to those who are not familiar with networking technology. The most any system I've encountered will ask for is the SSID and pass-code of a wireless network. Not anything else, like the particulars of that passcode, or data about the WPA.

Recommended solution; Minimize manual input of data, keep GUI down to basics.
AND
Consider the importance of other network managers, like wicd, and get the notification system to work with them

HAHA ;D the static IP configuration is really really worse, if you want to stay graphic.

But for now it would not help me much, because i know, how i have to set up the network configuration files. But for first-time users it is a bit hard to find.
Edit: Even that "address" is spelled different from English in German was a small desaster for me in effect of that spelling mistake. :z

For a fast and short changing of IP you need to be fast clicking and looking. 8)
