I find the KDE tooltips real beautiful (e.g. When you hover Kmix or Digital Clock). Why not make notifications look like tooltips?

Right now I think notifications are great, but I think it would be nice to have an option to make KDE notifications look a bit like Growl notifications do on a Mac:

I also think this would make the system more flexible (i.e. placing the notifications wherever you want,e.g. top right corner, instead of being stuck to the panel)

Keep up the good work!

Notifications is not tooltips, because it can can be collapsed/restored (tooltips can only "get way") also the can be expanded like for like copy situation - you can show more detailed info if you click on arrow. They an also be grouped.

Anyway creating a matching style would be great :)

Yes, of course there wouldn't be a direct mapping, but I think the details could be worked out :)
There could be an animation that would make room for the notification details when one clicked "Details", for example.

Also, it would stop things like the notification being too large to fit the panel, which causes the dialog to be cut off. I'll post a screenshot of this when I get home.

EDIT: There you go
