As I was viewing some bug report on widget resizing, I came up with a new concept, as per following mockup:
http://imagebin.ca/view/2EXcc7s.html A button that would allow resizing and repositioning a plasmoid by user dragging a rubberband as the new size & position. (Even more natural way would be actually user drawing the boundaries, but makes no sense, because sizes are still rectangles, and a rubberband is a lot more accurate than drawing a rectangle with a mouse.) I believe such feature wouldn't be very hard to implement, but unfortunately my obligatory military service starts in a week, so I don't really have time to work on this for the next half year, but hopefully the concept will gain some momentum here... |

It looks like my mokup on https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=164355#c36
The "resize" button should be used to freely resize the plasmoid. |

Uhm, I believe it LOOKS like it, but means a different thing, a bit. Instead of dragging the existing edges, mine is about drawing a new size and location for the plasmoid...
