Hi,
It might be nice to have an option where kdm will take a photo using a webcam when a wrong password is entered. This will be handy if your laptop gets stolen because if you find it again you'll know who had it. Or if someone tries to break into your computer. What would be even more handy is if the geolocation data as well as the photo were automatically uploaded onto a site so that you'll know where it is. |

The geotagging information and the photo would be very useful.
It should be sent every minute or something because if it doesn't, when you get to the police, the notebook could already be anywhere. For this it should deactivate the "Wait when lid is closed", and maybe even keep the computer on (sending the position) but with the screen off when the stealer tries to shutdown the system. So even if the stealer tries to turn off the computer it stills let you trace it's position. And about uploading, I think sending it to an email account would be better than uploading it to a site. yet it should give both options. Another nice thing to have would be to activate this with a message from a cell phone or from other computer but that doesn't belong to kdm anymore and it may be hard to implement. |

Laptop can susspend instead of shutdown and next will run after some ammount of time.
Great idea! It could be done via pam? If is, we could have thease mechanism in entire system. Screensaver and keyring could use it too.

It would help ME because SOMEONE keeps trying to get into my machine.
Also, this could lay the groundwork for face recognition later on. |
