hi guys,
i have a proposal for the the original dolphin copy/move window (which meanwhile is hidden because of the central kde information system windows that in my opinion are not better than the original) anyway, in the original dolphin window there is a checkbutton for keeping open the window even if the copy/move process is finished - a function which is quite fine. my idea: it would be great to have another checkbox to be able to activate a wav/mp3 file being played when the process is finished, e.g. a simple BING or even a spoken "copying finished". background: i often have larger files to copy to slow media and would simply like to be acoustically informed when the process is finished. the same proposal even more is valid for the KDE Desktop information window desklets. cheers -incredion |

In 4.3 there is the little [i] icon in the systray that displays the number of running system tasks and also shows if nothing is being done.

Most notifications do seem to have this (see systemsettings -> notifications), but I can't find one for this particular notification.

Another checkbox - no thanks.
Notification for "copying finished" etc. - sure.

You can restore the "traditional" file progress dialogs in KDE 4.3.
System Tray > Right click > Configure System Tray > Information > Untick file transfers and other jobs.
KDE Sysadmin
