Why is such a classic game not in the system? Silly not to do so, really! Dante Ashton, in the KDE Community since 2008-Nov. -Artificial Intelligence Specialist.

But well... writing an easier IA for beginners would be nice also. Actually I can't really beat any of the free IA except the ones from Brutal Chess ! And this is quite unpleasent ! I don't know Checkers but well... why not ! KDE has a lot of original games, but the classical ones would be very welcome also.

But, yes, we should have a chess/checkers client for KDE. At the minimum would be an XBoard port that could also do checkers. IIRC, there was an XBoard port called Knights, but it is now an orphan. I suppose that an OpenGL perspective rendering of a board and pieces would be interesting, but would it be useful for serious play?
