There is Qt bindings project named Qt Jambi. It uses Jambi Generator to generate Java code for Qt code and provide Qt API for Java developers. As a result, user will hardly recognize Jambi application from any other desktop application.
May be it's possible to use Jambi Generator to generate bindings for kdelibs and kdebase, providing full KDE bindings for Java, with possibility to access KDE configuration and advanced KDE widgets and native KDE dialogs. With those bindings there will be one more language for KDE developers with high KDE integration.
