There is already a post in another forum, to use two mice to simulate two-point multitouch, for users without a touch screen.

My suggestion is for users who already have a single-point touch screen.

Set it up in KDE so, for example, the user can make a right-click with the mouse, controlled by his/her right hand, to set and manimpulate one point, and then reach up to the screen with a finger on the opposite hand, to set and manipulate the second point.

By all means, invoke full multi-touch capability for folks who want to buy new screens, but leave this "compatibility mode" as a selectable option for those who would rather continue to use their existing screens.

Actually, 95% of what I see being done in multi-touch demos can be done by controlling only two points.

Multi-touch is not yet supported in X11. This can't really be done until X11 adds support for it, then Qt adds support for that, then KDE adds support for that.
