It would be great, if we could use email just in the same way as we use jabber, skype or irc.

There could be a plugin/ protocol (i don't know which word is better) that could be used as any other IM protocol.

In server (Akonadi) side, akonadi backend could be set to show only specified virtual folders to that protocol. So e.g. only messages from friends and new ones would be visible in Kopete.


Or if it is technically possible use existing protocol like jabber for such communication. This way only Akonadi module should be written + it could be used in any IM client
