For visually challenged coders, the Search & Replace pane below the editor area on KATE 3.3.0 (KDE 4.3.0) is extremely tough to use.
Have to lean my head all the way to the bottom of the screen to be able to use it, unless i resize KATE to take only half of the screen, which is quite impractical too. Previous version of KATE made it easier on us by providing a good old pop up window. My suggestion is to let the user choose the kind view for this tool, so that special needs can be addressed. It would be a blessing if KATE devs take this into account. Thanks, Nuno. |

Requests such as this may be better suited in the KDE Brainstorm.

Moved to KDE Brainstorm. This will need to be checked by an Idea Moderator before being shown to users.

Why not make the search and replace pane a dragable thing that can be docked against any edge or allowed to float?
Proudly dual-booting openSUSE 11.1 with KDE 4.3 and Windows Vista on a Toshiba A205-S4577 since July 2007.
