Focus Window

A keyboard shortcut (or window button), that would focus the window and turn the rest of the screen black (or wallpaper or dim the screen). This should also affect all plasma widgets and panels

I am using two 23inch LCDs and I usually work with lot of windows at the same time, but from time to time, I just want to focus on just one of them.

Hi, there's already an option in KDE desktop effects to dim inactive windows...

And with the settings for dim inactive windows you can turn all panels, desktops and windows pitch black.

But a keyboard shortcut would be a good option.

Yeah, this should preferably go into the current KWin plug-in.

Well the problem is that with screen resolution of 4096x1152 I normally like to see more than one window. But from time to time - e.g. when reading a document, I would like to be able to quickly focus just that one window. A shortcut for to turn on the dim effect on and off quickly would be ideal!

I think this goes to same series of needs to tweak the features of KWin effects. Already possible but this same time affects all the windows. Mayby we need to think if we can get this kind effects to be assigned only for specific applications/windows if needed.
