[Amarok] Scrobble MTP-devices

Mon Aug 24, 2009 10:55 pm
Many MTP-devices (like the Creative Zen) store a playcount value for earch track. Amarok should be able to read and scrobble, when connecting such a device.
Additionally, amarok could also add these values to the collection's playcount (it can only do so if the track is also in your collection, of course).
To prevent amarok from scrobbling/adding one track twice, it has to keep an internal database, how often a track has been scrobbled/added:

MTP-playcount - DB's-playcount = plays since last connection

There is already a python-GTK program to accomplish that, but in Amarok should have that functionality already integrated - not only to keep the desktop GTK-free, but also since you have to close amarok completely, if you want to use this tool because otherwise, the MTP-access is blocked.
