When reviewing a document in okular, it would be nice to have a view mode in which spelling mistakes are highlighted. Of course, not in the intense to fix them, but consider for example the following use case.
When editing a document in LaTeX not all editors do support just highlighting spelling mistakes in text regions like the katepart does. In countries with accents and umlauts it is even worse. And I guess normally a document is reviewed as PDF (or DVI, PostScript, ...) than as ASCII text in the editor. It would be nice to see spelling mistakes too, when reviewing it with okular. I think it might be good to integrate grammar checking too as an additional option such as providing the option to select a backend like LanguageTool (see: https://www.languagetool.org/)
I use latex for typesetting. The auto-reload feature of okular makes it nice to use for previewing the document. A spelling/grammar option would be quite nice for this use case. |

This actually could be a great idea. My main issue when I annotate a PDF is that I have lots of spelling mistakes in the comments. Tha's not good. HereI have listed some of the Free, Libre, and Open Source software writing-assistant and linting. I think they can be added as a plugin to spell check either the PDF itself or the annotations.
P.S. Allen Webb has this interesting project worth checking.
