I'm thinking about a desktop-effect, for maximizing the currently focused window.
At the moment I have the desktop-effect "Present Windows" at the upper left corner, which is great for fast switching between the windows. It is a kind of "zoom-out function". What I'm missing is a kind of "zoom-in function", which I can switch to the upper-right corner: If the currently focused window is normally sized, a mouse-hit to the upper-right corner should maximize the window and the other way round. Or in other words: I want to be able to associate the maximize-button of the current window to the "Active Desktop Borders"-functions. So if I move the mouse to lets say the upper right corner, it does the same like pushing the maximize-button of the current (focused) window. I think it's very easy to implement and it would very much improve the usability KDE.

What would happen to panels etc. - would the window cover them as well?

@Hans:
I think you misunderstand me. The desktop-effect, I dream of should do nothing more than maximize the current window. Like if you hit the "maximize"-button of a window (or double-click onto the window titlebar). Or in other words: I want to be able to associate the maximize-button of the current window to the "Active Desktop Borders"-functions. So if I move the mouse to lets say the upper right corner, it does the same like pushing the maximize-button of the current (focused) window.

Oh, just maximize? I though you wanted a desktop effect that looks like "Present Windows", but only shows one window (that you can interact with) that takes up the whole screen.
In that sense I though it was similar to idea 76307, since both let you focus on one window.
