[EDIT]Correction: This is specifically not about the "Back" button, which already does this, but about when you click on the name of the parent folder in the path section.

Let me give you an example to help you understand my proposal.

Imagine your music collection, with, say, 100 folders in your music folder. You want to check something in each or many of the folders, maybe if there are cover images or w/e. This means that you open a folder, do whatever you are up to, and go back, opening maybe the next folder in line. You start in the beginning and it works alright, but then you have to scoll further and further down - because Dolphin, when you go back to the last folder, takes you back to the very beginning of your 100 folders.
Wouldn't it be very convenient if Dolphin remembered your last scroll position?

I'm not sure I understand. When I open a subfolder in my large music collection (sorted into alphabetical folders, artists, albums) in dolphin an use the back button in dolphin it always does take me back to the position where I was in the music directory, not to the beginning. When I use the up button it takes me to the beginning, when I use the back button it remembers the position. As it should be.

>do whatever you are up to, and go back
Why going back? Open two Dolphin windows or split the view of one Dolphin window.

@ blindvic: It was just an example. I for my part find myself in this situation every so often. I'm sure some people would give me a strange look for not doing this through a terminal... ;-)

@JaKi: You are definitely right! What have I been doing?

I guess I usually go back via the path bar (click "Music" in "... > Music > Artist", to follow the example). And there, it doesn't remember the position.

What do y'all think? Should it remember the position as well when you click on the parent folder to go back? For me, it would definitely help since I don't have to move the mouse as far...

I see. I don't use those breadcrumbs very often but I guess yes, they should definitely behave like the back button and remember the position.
