I am using actually pidgin because i am working on a computer under a proxy and kopete doesn't support this option.

I think that in kde there must be a single tool for network configuration. |

Yes it should be. Bun unfortunately, Kopete doesn't work under a proxy. It is impossible to get connected. So I use pidgin (and kmess 2.0 when it will be ready with karmic)
