I sometimes want to only copy a directory structure but without the files it contains.
As far as I know there is no such function in Dolphin or any other file manager i come across. Could be in a submenu 'Advanced Copy'>'Copy Directory Structure only' |

I will vote "no" to this proposal (as in many others), not because they isn't a good ideas, but because provide too many features would mean "dirty" the graphic interface (remember you because appreciate the look and feel of MacOSX ). I think that for some operations would be more useful to create a advanced tool for manage the file system or simply use the terminal

What would be about a Konqueror-plugin?
A terminal usually does not support KIO and this feature would be useful for FTP... |

No to "advanced" menues/sections.
It is better to implement this as a script. You can even use Korundum(Ruby), PyKDE(Python), etc. if you want to use KIO.
connect(post, SIGNAL(readSignature()), qapp, SLOT(quit()));

My personal opinion would be that it wont be very useful, or atleast worth an independent feature. I believe an extension or a plugin may be a good idea for those who wish to use this.

Unfortunately it has not yet been discovered how to write Konqueror-plugins in Ruby or Python... |

I did not mention Konqueror. If you want a GUI you can use service menus (via a .desktop file).
connect(post, SIGNAL(readSignature()), qapp, SLOT(quit()));

Servicemenus aren't powerful enough for this task.

But scripts are. Just open a Select Directory dialog from the script.
connect(post, SIGNAL(readSignature()), qapp, SLOT(quit()));

But I think he wants to have integration: A tool which can be easily used while working with Dolphin/Konqueror.

I love the idea but it would indeed be more useful as a plugin. It could be more generic so that you can set a filter to specify which files should be copied and which not (copy only .html and images, etc...)
Maybe an advanced files copier could be useful too : see http://ultracopier.first-world.info/

Maybe somebody wants to write such a plugin...
A basic Konqueror plugin for this would be very simple. Additional features would make it more dynamic: Copy files matching regexp, moving files, copy filetypes matching regexp... |
