I often want to copy several files or folders that reside deep in a directory tree in different subdirs. The special thing is, I want to keep the whole directory structure even on the destination path.

But the destination path after the copy process is finished should only contain the specific files/folders I wanted to copy, not all that are on the source path, so I cannot simply copy the whole dir.

This e.g. makes sense if you want to copy several albums from a music directory structure, but not all from the same artist if you have a subdirectory structure like
Code: Select all
Music/genre/artist/year album/track - title

You could select several albums - not all! - copy them and keep the whole structure even if you only copy some of the albums not all.

For this, Dolphin should have a 'Advanced Copy'>'Copy With Path' function, that does exactly that. You select the files you want to copy and do 'Copy With Path' and on the destination dir your selected files are placed into the same dir substructure as on the source path.
