You can, of course, exclude ~/Music, or any others, from the directories that are indexed.

This is a nice idea, which I only understood after reading the comments from TheBlackCat and anda_skoa. If this is what the author meant, may I suggest updating the description to reflect that. As it stands now, it's confusing and leads to the wrong conclusions.
If I understand this correctly, this idea suggest replacing the existing custom databases of applications such as Amarok and digiKam with something like Nepomuk (or tapping onto that), thus allowing a system wide, semantic-oriented access to the data they index. Dolphin or Konqueror or whatnot can then view these as 'virtual folders'. Since we are only talking about indexing here, your data stays where it is and what you get is an additional way of viewing them (organised in whatever way it was chosen through Amarok/DigiKam/OtherApp). In my understanding, this is one of the target usages of the Nepomuk ecosystem. |

Hmm sorry, english isn't my native language
I meant the same as TheBlackCat, anda_sloa and Ioannis. If there is a better full explanation, I will put it into the first posting. |
