Sorting to places sidepanel

Thu Nov 05, 2009 3:25 am
When comparing the sidepanel of Dolphin and open / save dialog to other desktops and filemanagers, KDE4 miss the feature to have a sorted/grouped entries.

I just suggest that we could add a lines to the places panel like we can add to toolbars. So we could make simple areas.

The lines should not have any text on them so it would take more space. 1px thin line would do the job very well. Question is just how to get it removed (would it just glow when hovering like when moving entrys?), while adding could be easy just by right clicking and clickin "add line".

Sorry for late posting : great idea, you got my vote, to remove these lines ? why not letting the mouse pointer on this line, it would change in a double arrow pointer, right click and delete..

or when the mouse pointer is on the line, a little red cross icon can appears, just click on it to remove the line

It should be then behind right click, to be removed like any other entry. As hovering should not show any entry removing options.

But I still think my earlier idea is better even it is different brainstorm.php#idea83525_page1
