actually the one sw that does the tuning work decently (including all linux os and not only kde) is kaffeine. some other players does a job or accept configuration files (me-tv, vlc, totem...) that are not completely interoperable.
My idea is to move the very well done tuning module of kaffeine to kde systemsettings, and consequently the channels.dvb file from .kde/share/apps/kaffeine to an appropriate place to be used and shared between all kde players like dragon, kaffeine, amarok (for dvb radios, i mean). Eventually, this file could be transformed to xml to let adding tags to channels (i.e. sports, comedy, cartoons...), adding stars/favorites and link relative infos in nepomuk framework. |
