Problem: If you have a rather large music collection it is quite annoying that Amarok does a rescan of it every time it starts, even if it already stored the complete dataset in mysql and even if there has been no change to the collection.

Bug? I deactivated the button 'follow changes' in the Preferences -> Collection section
(sorry for the wrong words, I use the german language version, so please get the meaning, don't cling to the wording)
but this did not the desired effect. Still Amarok scans and scans already known music.

I do not know it this is a bug or a feature but Amarok should be managable to stop that behaviour and scan my collection only and when I tell it to!

Advantage: At least Amarok does not crash anymore having scanned 99% of my collection as it did in former versions...
