Actually second tab in configure desktop dialog(plasma activity) have small amount of options. I think, it will be pretty well to describe and manage task to each activity.
Actually many users put notes plasmoid on each activity, but we can realize my idea. Once the idea been realized, user will receive messages about active tasks on current activity(above this little information bulb icon in tray). Use case: 1) I need to test a new game. I have went to "entrainment" activity, right click on it, configure this activity, and add new task: test new game, once you arrive from school (date: 16th September, 2010). When I turns on my computer, plasma uses libnotify to inform about task to realized on activity "entrainment". I can switch on this activity to get more information.

I think this idea (which was posted after yours, but was much more clear) is what your idea is about.
I'm not sure. But it seems like this... Anyway check the idea and report if it's what you meant or not. Here's the idea: brainstorm.php?f=83#idea85709
