This idea is an correction of idea brainstorm.php?mode=idea&i=83714
This post will also changes some important thinks. Dragging windows is not very ergonomic. We must travel with mouse above top border of window, click and move mouse into destination position. Also switching windows, without elements like window list or using keyboard isn't possible. My idea is to add support for global KWin menu. It could allow to switching window, moving active window into mouse position, getting inactive window to front, etc. When mouse appears on active window, the menu couldn't be displayed(only inactive windows can be area for it). This idea can be realized, like plasma mouse action for KDE4.4(we can create custom slots for mouse and connect it to predefined actions). Default behavior could be clicking middle button on inactive area/window. Predefined actions should be: - Move active window here - Take window below cursor to front - Minimize window below cursor - Take selected window to front( list of windows as submenu ) - Adjust size and placement of active window and window below cursor/connect active window and this - Group both windows(tabs) [together - my English isn't perfect] - Click here by left button - Click here by left button and brink this window to front - Drag this element(left button will be pressed until we click on it) Actually we can adjust action for mouse buttons by systemsettings application, but we can't activate/enable each option, so allowing user to connect one button to menu with possibly action could be great. Also it also brinks sugar to setting different mouse actions on active/inactive window. Some activities would be very easiest, like: - Switching(Showing) a desktop - user might middle click on desktop and select brink to front - Moving windows - middle click on destination and accept - Places window(fullscreen, left side, right side) - middle click on edge/corner and select the option - Grouping window - middle click on one of window and select

I think, that KWin could places access to effects on this menu(desktop grid, window grid, etc.).
We can also place plasma menu(as submenu) to this menus(but this idea can do some badly think/it can mesh up). This both ideas should been included to another topic.
