Currently KDE uses a single, universal window decoration for all windows. This idea is to allow Kwin to use separate decoration styles on different types of windows through standard filters.
For example, toolboxes might have a near-nonexistent frame to focus on content. modal dialogues might get a transparency effect that fades them into parent windows. Permissions dialogues might have a caution stripe running along the top.
