Alternative fileselection

Hey, I wrote this some time ago, but now I saw it again in a youtube video.

What do you think about to select files with a kind of lasso. You just have to paint a kind of bubble around the files you want to select.

Just watch this video of bump top: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5IswixD5pw

pro arguments:
- It's easier to select only some of the files. Example: In the left upper corner is a file you don't want to select. In the traditional method you have to select the files with a square and then you have to unselect the file you don't want to have. - It's not very comfortable.
- I think it's very intuitive.

I may suggest that it be an option under mouse and keyboard, whether the user can do the generic square or lasso as you suggest. The only con I see to this is that to select a lot of files, it takes a bit more effort. Maybe have it able to be assigned a keyboard shortcut as well (CTRL+Click, or something of the sort)

This is KDE, the big dresktop environment with many options, so why not?

Yes maybe a bit. You have to move the mouse to the right, down and to the left.

Neutral vote...
That would be good for touch-screens, but for a mouse it is totally useless, I think ctrl+shift is always faster than this idea.
