Lets say I have a maximized dolphin window.
How about if I drag an item from the window to my edge of screen, the dolphin window should unmaximize automatically (or even minimize until I am done dragging) and allow me to drag the item on to exposed desktop by space hence created. This could be further extended to present me a possible list of options where this item is draggable like - Desktop, Other open applications etc. So, now I am browsing. And I decide to link this page on my desktop. I just click anywhere on an empty area and drag it to my right edge, The firefox window gets minimized/unmaximized and I am able to drop it on Desktop or hover over an open kopete conversation and drop it there. |

this shouldn't exclusivly for maximized windows. for instance I often want to drag folders from one dolphin window to another, but notice that it's not possible to so so, because the windows overlap.
maybe dragging an item to an edge should trigger present windows where I can activate each window I want (e.g. by hovering it for 2sec) |

I think there's an idea about dragging to screen corners to activate the action (e.g. show dashboard, present windows etc.).

this is exactly what i was thinking as i read the idea. minimizing the window wouldnt work because sometimes u drag something to the edge of the screen by accident, but present windows on dragging item to screen edge would be a great feature to have. |
