I think I have found an workaround that should work.
It involves using dropbox!
Create shortcut of your:
/home/USER/.kde/share/apps/akregator/data/
folder inside Dropbox folder.

On other system install dropbox and to the same :)

Will test this to see if it works though..

Sync RSS (what was read or not yet)

Thank you for the hint about dropbox! :-)

It would be really nice indeed if akregator could sync its feeds list with Google Reader, just like FeedDemon (on MS Windows) and Gruml (on Mac Os X) already do.

This way someone like me, that use different OSes at home and at work, can still get synced RSS feeds!

Please implement this feature!!!

Hmm, lots of non-free software being recommended. Surely KDE can beat them ;)

Akregator will be switching to Akonadi for storing RSS, so we may as well fix it for Akonadi and then we're future-proof. So how could this work?

1) Akonadi installations could talk to each other. This could work, for instance, by storing the required data in a specially crafted email, which the other Akonadi notices and acts upon. This is a bit of a hack though.

2) Store all metadata such as "Bob has read entry Foo" in Nepomuk and allow Nepomuk instances to talk to each other. I think this is being worked on, and would be a good solution.

3) Store these settings in OwnCloud or something similar, so that the settings are available everywhere. Good, but requires a server (or at least a home PC which is accessible over port 80)

Sure it can! (and still does in many cases)

We already have Akonadi services that sync address book with GMail, why don't we do something similar, using Google Reader for example?

Also adding this feature to OwnCloud would be cool.

I think an Akonadi + ownCloud combination is the way to go here.

It's time to prod some serious buttock! ;)

I also have this "problem".

Like hook, I think that's the way. IMO ownCloud in future should be able to syncronize this and other things, like program configuration.
