A possibility to configure the sensitiviy of the active screen edges and make them easier to trigger. This could for example be done by adding an option to the active screen edge-configuration tool where you could either (1) move a slider to make the screen edge more or less sensitive or (2) have a touchpad-option wich would make the active screen edges more easily triggered.

Background
I'm a happy user of the active screen edges, i.e. the possibility to, for example, show the desktop by moving the cursor to one specific screen edge. I've tried both the equvialents in Compiz Fusion and MacOSX and found them to be triggered much more easily. When using a mouse this is of no gain and rather an annoyance because you can easily trigger them by misstake and therefore the current sensitivity in KDE is great when using a mouse. However when using a touchpad I find that the current sensitivity of the screen edge in KDE is too low. I often find myself trying several times to activate the screen edge before anything happens. Therefore I suggest a possibility to configure the sensitivity of the active screen edge to make them easier to trigger.

I believe you can set the number of milliseconds that the "push" needs to last, thus increasing or decreasing the "sensitivity." If you want it less sensitive, set it for a full second, so that your mouse needs to "push" for a full second before the action occurs. If you set it to 0, simply hitting the edge triggers the event.

I found this brainstorm idea as I was trying to solve exactly the same sensitivity issue as the OP. The activation delay setting (and the re-activation delay) at the bottom of the settings page do actually affect all edge triggers (so my solution was to set it to a lower setting such as 50ms).

I, however, did not realise that initially: because of the selection box above these settings (desktop switching only when moving windows), I assumed these settings only apply for desktop switching.

Maybe the simplest solution is to re-order the last three settings, i.e. move the timing settings above the selection box.
