Calculation in KPatience

Sat May 01, 2010 10:51 am
:( Any chance of this card game being restored to KPatience?

"Calculation solitaire is yet another variation of the card game solitaire. You cannot continue to cycle through the deck until the previously flipped card has been placed. Once cards are placed on the table, they cannot be moved unless placed anywhere else but the foundation. Below each foundation is a white box highlighting the number of the card it will accept. The point of the this card game is to get all cards into the four foundations at the top."

You can try out Calculation yourself here: http://www.cardgamesolitaire.com/downloadcardgames.php

Please explain what the game is and why we would want it.

The game is called "Calculation". It was dropped from KPatience in KDE4. I don't have a clue why *you* would want it but I loved it.

That doesn't tell the rest of us why we would wish to vote for it. Please tell us about the game.

Calculation in KPatience

Added description and demo link myself. No idea should be rejected simply because nobody could be bothered to Google, copy, and paste :)

Or why it should be accepted if there is not sufficient information to say whether it's worth spending our time on.

Calculation in KPatience

Sorry for not replying, been on holidays.

I didn't understand TheBlackCat's question.I thought he would know the KPatience software and I was puzzled.

I love what you guys are doing and want to encourage and congratulate you to the nth degree.

If you check out KDE3 and earlier, you will see what Calculation is. I just don't think I'm capable of describing it adequately. I'm not technical.

It's also possible that I posted this request in the wrong forum. I'll bugger off now.

Calculation in KPatience

I hate to revive such an old thread but I too miss the game Calculation on KPatience. It had been there since as long as I can remember and only semi-recently has it been missing.

Since nobody was willing to look up the game, I'll explain...

You start with 4 cards, Ace, 2, 3, and 4, and 4 discard piles. Each of the "goal" cards represent a number that has to be added to the top card to let you know what the next card is. In the example of the Ace, the number would be 1 and as such the next card would be a 2, and then a 3 and then a 4, etc.; the "2" pile would go 2,4,6,8,10,Q,A,3,5,7,9,J,K, the "3" pile goes 3,6,9,Q,2,5,8,J,A,4,7,10,K and the "4" pile goes 4,8,Q,3,7,J,2,6,10,A,5,9,K

This is really the only solitaire game I even bother playing since most of the others are much easier to win, for me. If you want to know why you should vote for it, simply because it's a lot harder than most of the other games should be sufficient. The fact that it was already a part of KPatience should also suffice.
