Dynamic text selection

Sun May 02, 2010 3:03 am
Before I begin, I admit I got this idea from this thing http://reviews.cnet.com/i/bto/20090327/ ... 70x404.JPG

As you can see the text has two handles at both ends of the text selection, allowing th user to resize the selection, to the left or to the right. (and down or up)

The idea is to add handles to both sides of a text selection into KDE as it will ease text selection by making it more fluid, as the need for pixel perfect precision on the first try unnecessary.

This may have to be done in Qt rather than KDE.

It would probably have to be done at a Qt level as it needs to replace the behaviour of the standard QLabel, QTextEdit and such.

However - a working mockup could be made, and I for one, would like to see this and have a go.
