Follow cursor modes

I'm using laptop with own screen and had plugin additionally monitor. On laptop i have different proportions than on monitor, so I configured laptop screen and additional to different resolution.

It could been great to define screen with lower resolution to works in follow cursor mode(like in older X Server version). On this mode monitor will been restricted to bigger resolution, but displaying only smaller(bigger rectangle contains smaller). The bigger rectangle have size of desktop size.

I am not sure I understand, could you please elaborate?

I think what he wants is that desktop resolution would be on both his monitor and laptop the same (the bigger, monitor resolution), but this would mean that desktop wouldn't "fit" on laptop screen, so laptop would show only area around the cursor.
Like in desktop recording software.
I think it's an interesting idea and I'll approve it

You have right. I can't describe it better.
