I like Oxygen look - it is stylish and not glossy. But in my opinion in default theme minimize, maximize and close buttons are too narrow and it is difficult to point them fast. I've made a mockup which I think is easier to use.
Minimize/maximize buttons are grouped together because of their similar functions. Top left corner symbolize minimize, same for maximize. |

Using Aurorae you can a kwin decoration that looks exactly like oxygen except it has new buttons. You should look at one of the existing oxygen clones for Aurorae and just replace the buttons. If you can make a mockup like that you should be able to make an Aurorae theme as well. I doubt a fundamental change to the oxygen icons is likely.

Already implemented:
goto 'System Settings' -> 'Appearance' -> 'windows' -> Edit 'Button size' (on kde 4.4 that is) Of course this will only make the normal icons larger, if you want them like in you mokup you should follow TheBlackCat's guide. |

DaSheep, I tried this, but I am not pleased with result. With circle form vertical increase is too large.
TheBlackCat, I'll try this, thanks. However I still think default appearance should have more usability. |

I don't think this will ever be the default, especially considering that button position can be changed/removed. These buttons look good in that arrangement, but only in that arrangement the default theme should be able to have buttons (re)moved without the others looking isolated, alienated or otherwise out-of-place.

It would be cool if it could determine that from the arrangement of buttons, similar to how some styles (e.g. Bespin I think) does with the toolbar. In the screenshot it would be: Minimize, Maximize, --- spacer ---, Close. In the original topic pinheiro (Oxygen coordinator) wrote "your design is good but is not 100% oxygen we never used those shapes in oxygen.", so it doesn't seem very likely it'll make it into Oxygen. However, it would be very cool if it could be implemented as a new window decoration (as I wrote. I like the it ).

The Arorae theme has a problem. It is not as responsive as oxygen. It is too slow in resizing . It is a bit slow in moving windows too |

I tried to make svg with Inkscape but result was not good It would be nice if someone with knowledge do this. |

Your buttons do really look great. I hate the small ROUND buttons. Yours are great!

My suggestion (since I generally do mockups in Gimp and then make in Inkscape later): Simply put the raster image in Inkscape, then trace over it with simple shapes. It looks like all your buttons would be is a rectangle with different radius cuts on the edges, a gradient applied, and a clone of that in black with a bit of a blur for the shadow. Then you just need to apply the "V" "^" and "X" characters on top. Contact me if you need any help; Aurorae makes it fairly easy, and while Aurorae is a little slower, it has seen significant improvement. |
