After selecting a field in Konqueror, such the one where I am typing this post, it seems that the only way to de-select the field is to click outside of it. Pressing the Tab key will obviously just select the next field. However, when the Location Bar is selected, it can be de-selected by pressing Tab.
I would like to assign some key to leave the field-- i.e. accomplish the same thing as clicking outside of the field. Although Esc is bound to Stop by default, this is the key I would use for the function in question. Consider selecting a field like Insert mode, and Esc is the key to leave insert mode and return to command mode. I use several letter keys for common tasks in Konqueror (and other KDE apps)-- for example, 'd' to close a tab, 'G' to go to the bottom of the document, and so on. Having a key to "leave insert mode" would be very hand when using this kind of Vim-like keybindings. |
