kwallet password generation

Fri Jun 25, 2010 4:46 pm
hi,

lateley i missed the possibility of generating a password in kwallet. the idea is to give an additional contextmenu entry whenever right clicking in a input field, which reads "generate password" -- could be even filtered if input field is of type password.

on "generate password" kwallet is summoned where one can let kwallet generate a new password -- which is not possible so far -- and this password being copied back in to the input field.

Did you check out the kpassgen application?

no i didn't, but i read the description. is it as integrated as kwallet? i've already keypassx installed to generate the passwords. however, it isn't that well integrated in to kde so that i really miss the aforementioned workflow in all that.

I also would like something like that to be integrated into KWallet.

Good password generators are quite hard to find - like ones that provide pronounceable passwords or can vary among a theme. Can kpassgen do this by the way?
