The situation:
> Dolphin > Network > Folder (ftp folder fully setup with username and password - stored in kwallet) > Authorization dialog (everything already there so only OK is needed) if the ftp folder is set up and the login information is stored in kwallet and everything works fine there is no need to pop up the auth dialog.. bring it up only when something goes wrong! edit: this suggestion is for configured network folders only (via "Add Network Folder")

I'm not sure how is it set now, but we could use it only with some kind of notification/icon telling, that the specified folder is a ftp folder and all the account/access settings are ok and kept in kwallet. In other case there's no way to tell which folder is local one and which is on ftp (now prompted with auth. dialog).

What about when you connect to the same server using multiple accounts?
If it presents itself as the user1 and logs in, and opens the destination folder automatically, how do you log in as user2? |

hmm... i think i get your point..
i have several ftp folders ... each folder and each domain has it's own link.. i also have 2 virtual servers running on one root server and they are reached over sftp with different ports .. every vm has its own link.. if i would like to connect with another user that has no direct link i write the small line in the addressbar ftp://user@domain.tld can't i just "Add Network Folder" with a different username ? would kwallet get confused? maybe a "don't ask again" checkbox would be it ?

ok, so you want this only for added network folders, not always? (if that is so, I'm voting 'yes')
