Proposal:
KDE SC should show full URL behind the shortened URL. This should be done globally and could either
Explanation: With the craze of microblogging came the demand for URL shortening services (e.g. bit.ly, is.gd). The problem is that something like http://is.gd/dDl09 doesn't tell you what the URL behind it. In this case it's http://opensource.com/law/09/12/ip-another-bubble-about-burst-view-another-civilization, but you never know. This trend has spread over other protocols as well -- you can see shortened URL everywhere: e-mail, web pages, IM conversations etc., which at best is annoying and at worst dangerous. I propose that this feature would be KDE-global, so all applications affected would benefit at the same time: Konqueror, Kopete, Konversation, Akregator, KMail et al. Example: It's apparently possible to do (via API's I suppose), since e.g. Status.Net/Identi.ca shows the full URL when you mouse-over on the shortened link. On KDE-level this also works in Choqok already.
It's time to prod some serious buttock!
