Hi,
some of you might know the Nokia 5800 mobile phone. There you have the possibility to add your favorite contacts to the home screen. You see their contact pictures as well a history of the last messages, calls etc. In my opinion it would be pretty cool to have something similar in KDE. Because I have neither the time nor the skill to code this, I post my thoughts here. The layout of the plasmoid could be as following: on the top you have a row with the pictures of the contacts. Under this you find a row with the things to show. At the moment I think of the following:
All this stuff is displayed under this second row. In my opinion it would be the best to fetch all data from akonadi because there you have nearly everything you need: the photo of the person (from the address book), the URL to the blog (same), the emails and so on. For the chat history and the IM-presence a connector to kopete would make sense. What do you think about this idea? Greetings, Jakob |

That was good idea. Very useful for users to easily check their contact details and other information.
