I was just wondering if you plan adding timestamps to notification items. I think that it would be great. I really miss it. Maybe some other users would also welcome this

I voted for yes but only if there is an option to disable that. I hate timestamps and as the notifications are mostly recent items I see no need for me (but maybe others have).

I use Kopete a lot for example. Sometimes I go away from my computer for a while and when I come back I see notifications about people going online, offline, reading my status, etc. And I always wonder at what time it happened. Yes, I know that this function is not crucial but I like to stay informed and would definitely welcome this feature
I know that in most cases you can get the time of the event from the applications itself, but I think that it's better to have things in one place and when there is an option to turn it on/off then it wouldn't bother users who don't want it. |

I just finished mockups what I today made for a new notification system for what I included the timestaps idea first but I removed it in the end as the information "this email was received 2 hours ago" or "the CD was burned 15 minutes ago" is littlebit irrelevant for the user at that point. User can find that information from the applications itself (Email list, K3b, kopete etc).
Clock is so much now here and I am going to publish the mockup (it is not small, includes videos) tomorrow or day after that. I could include there that version as well. |
