The proposal is that in Dolphin (when navigating files with two panes open) it should be possible to right click on a file / folder and have in the contextual menu also the option to directly copy / move these to the next pane.

I would argue that drag-and-drop is sufficiently discoverable and usable that adding extra items (that are only there some of the time) to do the same thing is unnecessary.
Though, I can see the possibility of putting the other pane in the copy to and move to submenus.

I am not so sure about this idea.
The context menu is already pretty much full. And having this action in "copy to..." and "move to..." sub-menu causes problem because sometimes the function is there and sometimes it is not there, depending is the Dolphin in dual-panel mode or not. And argue that drag'n'drop is enough is pretty much valid as well. btw, it is "panel" with L |
