I just discovered tiled window managers like dwm. But they don't implement advanced capabilities I am used from kde. But then I had an idea:
There is this composite feature: You can see a little live window at the right border even if the real window is not active and behind your actual work. So I like to see some TV News but also working on eMails at the same time. As I do mostly hear the news it is alrigth for me to have this little live window at the right border - and I can see the live video stream. But I can not click this picture for activating the kaffeine main window. Is there a plasma widget already available that acts like a window tasklist on the panel but can present a live miniature picture of that thread? So you can have a wide panel at the right containing the window tasklist having live miniature pictures?

So, if I understand you correctly, you are asking for a task manager that show previews of the window instead of icons?

Yes,
that would introduce the feature of tiled-window-managers to see some more windows uncluttered. But your work would be as ever in a not mini window. And additionally I would like that the order these mini windows are displayed reflect the task switch order. In this way you have some functionalities of - task-list - task-switcher - tiled window manager I would like to give a third of my ultra-wide screen for this.

Probably won't fully satisfy your needs but have you seen the "Thumbnail Aside" desktop effect?
