I'm currently downloading photos from my cam, and I use the thumbnail aside feature. The problem is that it shows the whole window and it's hard to see the progress part at the bottom, would be very cool to point on an element in the window (or draw a rectangle like in ksnapshot) which will show only that on the side of the screen... I'm sure many cool features can be done if it was possible to retrieve parts of the window anyway...
