Now when we want to send a file to the usb stick we have to do right click, copy to and follow the path where the usb is mounted

The idea is to have the mounted usb listed in the first menu after the copy to

just usb sticks or any dynamically attached writable device (cd, dvd, ext hd, upnp devices)?

once selected using the "browse" option the mount point for that device is add to the possible list of destinations, just not at the top (below "browse")

you're right about cd and dvd's that's a Nero Window's thing - my bad

but yes, once selected using the "browse" option BUT --> using the file tree NOT places <-- the mount point for that device is add to the possible list of destinations, just not at the top (below "browse"). Just browse up the file tree to /media and it will be added.

Or you could add it by hand by editing the dolphinrc file in the section:
[kuick-copy]
Paths[$e]=

Hm, using places works for me. It's added to the top of that list if I select it from places. Still, I'm not sure "/media/Kingston" for example is the best idea from a UI perspective.

Something like: "USB-stick (4 gig)" with the usb-icon on the left would IMO be more user-friendly. And they should probably be there from the start as well, and not only after you have used the Copy/move to option.

I don't disagree, I was only noting that the functionality is there, though maybe not optimally

Never thought of using places there - live, learn

@Dimitrios - maybe change the request post title to read something akin to "display all mounted devices on the copy to and move to service menus, including device icon".
