It is sometimes hard to restore a desktop customization settings. I would be nice if the customization history can be found in the 'Workspace Appearance and Behaviour' settings and people can go undo/redo a customization step.

This is an excellent idea, and would be a boon especially for new users exploring KDE for the first time.
The main benefit of kde, it's ability to customise everything, is also its downfall. Sometimes you play around with customising something and then want to undo it, but can't and then end up messing up your system. This should apply globally to Plasma workspace settings, including changes such as adding or moving widgets, resizing panels etc. I remember when I first started using KDE4 and started fiddling with the panel settings, I kept having to delete the panel and start all over again. Perhaps this could be implemented by having a right-click option of "undo customization" or "customization history" in any customizable Plasma Desktop element. Though perhaps this might add a bit too much clutter, so could just be an option in the control centre. |
