Disable tracks in Amarok

Mon Sep 20, 2010 9:33 am
Hey
I would welcome an ability to 'disable' some tracks in Amarok.
What I mean? Sometimes there is a song that I really don't like and I don't want it to be played when I load an album to my playlist. I do not want to delete it completely and I don't want to remove it from playlist every time. I would like to, somehow, mark it as 'unwanted' so when I add the whole album it will not be added or, even better, it will be added but skipped.

What do you think?

If you're familiar with music editing programs, they give you the ability to turn off specific tracks (that are generally being mixed together) with a little dot that is lit green when you want it on, and dark when it's off.

I don't think it would be impossible by any means to add a little dot next to each song to turn it "on" or "off".

I think that the hardest thing about implementig it would be how to fit that into the interface not to clutter it too much. Especially since it porobably wouldn't be very popular (yet still usable and nice).

@envalin
Yea, something like that, but Amarok should remember that settings not just for one playlist but all the time.

@Daniel_Boff
are they? :)
