I could not find any plasmoid for audio recording.
Having a simple plasmoid which would start recording from input sources, would be a great tool to use. It would ask for a save location and upon clicking stop button should save the file in that location. Presently there are few apps but for a normal user, such plasmoids might be very helpful. |

I think this kind feature could be joined with one my old mockup about recorder widget
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/re ... tent=97428 That idea was for having a digital journal in computer. No fancy application windowses and settings, just simply sound recording when clicking REC and when clicking STOP it just would stop. User could choose will the webcam be recorder as well. And then as well will the recordmydesktop (or other) be used to record desktop and not webcam. That would allow few things. Voice journals/memos (mic) Video journals (mic+webcam) Screen recording (Mic+Desktop) All files would be stored predefined directories. By default they would be ~/Video/journal and ~/Music/journal with filename being year-month-day-rollingnumber. I could not see why not set from settings a possibility to select a other source for sound recording. That way the same widget could be used for record a line in -jack. |
