krunner should open automatically (without ALT+F2) when keystrokes are typed on empty desktop, taking care to avoid conflicts with other application.

This is too ideas. However, the first idea (first letter), is WONTFIX (this would lead to far too many results for the system to handle) and I think a duplicate as well. So please only include the first idea. You should also explain why this is better than krunner widget that can be put on the desktop or in a panel.
Man is the lowest-cost, 150-pound, nonlinear, all-purpose computer system which can be mass-produced by unskilled labor.

do you mean "last"?
as there won't be conflicts (if you hit just usual letters on empty desktop, now nothing should happen) you could avoid to press ALT + F2. if you use often krunner instead of the usual menù this would improve your speed and desk esperience. Simply you start writing and krunner appear as usual. It should be put attention in not to generate conflicts. |

+1 For the second Idea.
But making sure no conflicts are included with this. And as always in KDE: Make it configurable! Like following scenarios: User1: Wants current situation Keystrokes on empty desktop do nothing. User2: Wants Krunner Keystrokes on empty desktop open krunner. User3: Wants what we dont yet think of

ok, maybe then it's better to rename the thread to be more in topic...
let's focus only on the second idea! EDIT: it doesn't let me change the title... |

I like the idea.
Maybe we could do it like Enso (http://www.humanized.com/enso/) and use the Caps Lock key to change to the "KRunner mode". |
