New power system could have a plug in to disable specific KWin effects, when using battery e.g.
I'm sure the devs can rate each effect's computational needs on a scale of 1-3. This can be based on the algorithm, and doesn't have to be precise. In this way users can disable the more demanding effects without the need to check for themselves each effect or disable all effects. A power plug-in thus could also be made to disable all effects scaled 3 or 2 & 3, making life easier and battery life longer. Thanks. This discussion inspired me I didn't follow all of it, so I don't know if the idea is originally mine - I'll amend it and give credit.
