I'd like to describe my monitor-setup first to give you an impression of what I'm talking about.

I have a second monitor attached to the docking station of my laptop (with different resolution). My favorite monitor-setup for this is having the second monitor right of my laptop and use it as primary screen.

When I'm not at home I sometimes use beamers to give presentations or similar. In these situations I like to have my screen duplicated to the beamer - of course at the same resolution.

Here's my "problem": When coming home I have to do a couple of clicks to obtain the mentioned setup (mostly because of the "--right-of" xrandr-part, which is not accessible by right-klicking the krandrtray-icon). To keep it simpler, I wrote a small shell-script which runs xrandr with the options needed.

Now my idea: What about having the possibility to save screen-setups within krandrtray and being able to restore these setups later with just one klick? I'd rather like something like this, which would give me the possibility to save some scenarios like "home", "laptop-only" and "beamer (1024x768)".

EDIT (2010-11-01):
I've got a second idea for this feature. When (un-)plugging a monitor a dialog is opened - something like "Monitor setup has changed... ".

It would be great to have the defined screen-setups as choices in this dialog. This makes changing the setup even easier because you don't have to klick around in krandrtray.
