I love KDE 4.x (more so in later revisions) But when I hit the cashew a nice themed menu pops up with options for the adding widgets or activities. It has the selected desktop theme applied and changes appearance if I change the desktop theme. I hit the Kmenu and it is just bland greyish menu (I prefer the classic style over kickoff). It would be great if the Kmenu appearance would be consistent with the selected desktop theme.
Thanks for all the great work you put into this product. |

Kickoff does use the desktop theme for its theme.
The Classic menu (as well as the desktop menu when you right-click on the desktop) uses the applications theme (specifically the menu settings). I do agree that it would be nice to get rid of the inconsistency by using one or the other for all menus directly associated with the desktop - the toolbox menu, the classic menu, the desktop context menu, and the individual plasmoids' menus.

So your idea is to add a new menu which uses the plasma menu theme?

Yes, When I hit the tool box in the upper right I get a nice themed menu. When I hit the kmenu button I get an old school pastie colored menu.

If this even come true I hope this will be a separate plasmoid.
Do not try this at home, part 1. Second most favorite command after KDE upgrade: # chmod -x /usr/bin/kactivitymanagerd
